What is Slack?

Slack is a collaboration hub where most of our communication between members happens. Remember to say @channel in your message so that everyone will be notified (you can notify individuals by saying @username or through direct messages). Be sure to join Slack when you become a member so that you don’t miss any information.

Workspaces

AIAS Kent

When you join AIAS Kent, you will receive an email invitation to join our Slack workspace. This is where we send out reminders, talk with other members, and run our chapter. If you are a registered member but are not on Slack, email aiaskent@gmail.com and we will get you your invitation.

AIAS Midwest quad

In addition to the AIAS Kent workspace, there is a Slack workspace for the entire Midwest Quad. When you join AIAS Kent, you should recieve an email invitation to join this workspace as well. If you are a registered member but are not on Slack, email aiaskent@gmail.com and we will get you your invitation.

Channels

Channels exist to help you organize conversations and make it so that you can find information more easily. You can also communicate via direct messages, or private group messages.

In the AIAS Kent workspace, the channels that you should make sure that you are in so that you get the most out of Slack are:

#connections

#events

#general

#mentorship

#random
